Why Move?

Our bodies are our tents, our homes, our temples.
We live in our bodies and we meet the world through movement.

Through our moving bodies, we meet ourselves.
We sense, we feel, we think, we act.
We hold in, we let go. We feel light. We feel heavy.
We breathe. We are still.

Through our moving bodies, we meet each other.
We reach out. We touch. We take in. We push away. We intertwine.
We choose. We are still.

Through our moving bodies, we meet our surroundings.
We hold, we bite, we stroke, we feel – sun on face, wind in hair,
ground under foot, water through hands.
We are still.

Through our moving bodies, we explore.
We start. We stop. We go from here to there.
We go away, we come back.
We walk, we inch along, we run,
we change direction,
we side step, we turn around, we leap, we stand.
We are still.

Through our moving bodies, we dance.
We are whole.
We release our spirit. We manifest our souls.
We are somebody. We meet God. We find stillness.
